Our Intermediate hurlers ended a 9 year drought to reclaim the Mid Intermediate title for the first time since 2008.
This victory also takes us out of relegation and into a County preliminary quarter final next weekend
In a great display in Holycross tonight we ran out 6 point winners on a score line of 1-16 to 1-10 over last years winners Thurles Sarsfields
Trailing 1-6 to 0-8 at the break after doing most of the hurling a Kevin Slattery goal pushed us into a lead which we held till the finish
Some inspirational scores from distance from David Nolan, Dermot Lahert (named man of the match) and Keane Hayes guaranteed us victory despite the absence of Ronan Teehan for the last 15 mins due to injury
The victorious captain Kevin Slattery accepted the cup on behalf of the jubilant squad.
Special thanks to the management team of Hugh Coghlan, Jim Rafter and Paul Barnaville
Lastly a special mention to our hard working Physio Maggie who unfortunately has been out with injury since the middle of the year. Speedy recovery Maggie
