To date the following is the cost incurred by Gortnahoe Glengoole GAA club since acquiring our extra land in 2016.

BCD energy - €2152.50,

R Foley Architect - €1045.50,

S Ryan Architect - €3321.00,

Stamp Duty - €2000
Timber cutting - €1200
Signage - €317
Provisional Car park costs - €2600

We have availed of the following funding

Munster council land purchase grant - €15,000 (used for above fees)

Sports capital funding- €45,500

With the development lotto going strong we also have €50,000 on hand to fund the next phase of the project

So with €114,794 spent to purchase the land and pay the associated fees the club finds itself in a position where we have a further €95,000 available to start works in the new year. This is a huge achievement for the club as all this was achieved without drawing down a bank loan, appealing for sponsorship/donations or running large fundraisers.

It was because of the support of those involved and all those that have bought lotto tickets and supported the clubs on and off the field that the club was able to make a decision to donate land to the community of 720 square metres in a prime roadside location agreeable to all to put in a playground for the young people of our community and surrounding area.

Since the formation of the the Lotto in July 2009 the Lotto has paid out on the jackpot 5 times totalling €71,600. It has paid out an annual figure of €11,700 (€225 per week to weekly lucky dip winners and a sellers prize). This means that a figure of €96,975 has been paid in this area since the inception of the Lotto. The Lotto has a yearly fee between €1770 and €2175 per annum also for ticket printing and upkeep of advertising.

Over the years the Lotto has also paid €3850 to improve and replace some of our lights for training purposes. Donations totalling €5300 have been made to the primary schools of parish over the years while it has also donated funds to various organisations within the parish like the Gortnahoe Tidy Towns, Gortnahoe Community Hall and Ballynonty Community Field to name but a few. It has also paid for running costs associated with the club like ball stopping nets, sanding of field, maintaining the tractor and mower etc.

It is hoped our lotto going forward will be ring fenced for development only which will mean a big effort from all clubs using our grounds to promote and sell our club Lotto. We encourage more help and support and for people to bring forward ideas on fundraisers to run our clubs on a day to day basis.

Massive thanks to all those who have supported the development lotto over the years and especially all those who sell, promote and organise the running of it on a weekly basis.

We also acknowledge the support received from the many clubs/schools/organisations in the parish in supporting our application for our successful sports grant. Your support at that time and good wishes since is very much appreciated.

In summary we thank all those who have worked so hard for the club over the years. We have been achieving great things on the field of play also in recent years and we are blessed with dedicated players who represent the club so well each time they take the field of play. Unlike other clubs who are forced to amalgate with other clubs we have remained competitive in all grades. Player numbers across all areas are high and a huge thanks is due to all our coaches, players, officers and committee members.

To our many loyal supporters and county board draw promoters we thank you for your unwavering support.

With the new development committee being formed in January and these funds being transferred to a development account along with ring fencing of the lotto we hope to appoint a contractor to commence works on the new field in the new year.
