Under 6
Training continues for our youngest bunch of budding players each and every Saturday morning at 9.45am. The training is of great variety with a strong emphasis on fundamental movements and grip and swing. Training is being enjoyed by all and we especially welcome all the parents of the players who are new to the club. At this age group we have numbers over 25 each week which is brilliant. We played the Harps in our first game of the year last week and all played their hearts out. This group travels to Killenaule next week and have upcoming games against Mullinahone and Urlingford in the pipeline.

This group have improved so much in recent weeks and will continue to do so over the coming months. Training time is Saturday mornings at 9.45am

Under 16: Following a fairly lack lustre football championship the U16 hurling season starts this Saturday with the Brendan Teehan tournament in Gortnahoe at 11.30am. This will be followed by the start of the Championship on Monday next(25th) in Gortnahoe at 7pm v Loughmore/Castleiney. This is a good bunch of hurlers and hopefully will progress well in the hurling championship.
Coaches/Training Assistants
The club really appreciates all the time given up by those who train and look after our teams. We are encouraged by all the extra help that has come on board in recent weeks with all our teams. Your contribution (big or small) has made things easier for our trainers. Most of all though, as predicted the level of improvement in the individual player and teams is notable on the back of this help. We appeal to you to continue to help out where possible.
Upskilling of coaches/assistants
We have over 18 people who have expressed an interest in doing a foundation level course which we will organise in the coming weeks. If you want to complete this course please let us know as soon as possible
Practical workshop for trainers
We will hold an evening for all coaches/assistants in the coming weeks. On the evening advice, ideas, drill demonstrations and a questions and answers session will be laid on for all those in attendance.
Coaching Aids
Our coaching committee are in the final stages of completing the training pack for all our individual age groups. The pack will contain the relevant skills/drills and sample training sessions for teams, and will include a break down on each skill in word, diagram and on dvd. This will be a great tool going forward for all those helping with our teams and in time will benefit our teams on the field.
Guest Coaches
The coaching committee will be arranging the attendance of a number of Tipperary Senior Players to attend and take part in a number of training sessions with our teams during the month of August.
Cul Camp
The date for the this years Cul Camp is 6th-10th August
Field Development
The extra training area which was recently made available has been a great help to the juvenile club. Thanks to all those Juvenile mentors for their help in getting this ready to train on. As you all know the club purchased the adjoining field two years ago (loan free) and was also successful in acquiring a sports capital grant in November 2017. In the next few weeks tenders will be requested to commence works on the installation of a new full sized playing pitch along with a walking track. We look forward to this development. A number of juvenile parents have enquired about purchasing lotto tickets to support this venture. With effect from next Saturday these tickets can be purchased at the Saturday morning training session for all those who wish to support. All lotto funds will be for the development of this pitch/walking track.
