Gortnahoe Glengoole GAA Club notes
Minor Football
Our Minor footballers took on Loughmore Castleiney in round 3 of the Mid Championship last Saturday in Gortnahoe. In what was a great game of football we won it the hard way after giving up an 8 point lead. The lads showed great spirit to find the next 2 scores after Loughmore had leveled the game with 5 minutes to go, the final score was 5-10 to 4-11 and with 1 round left v Boherlahan away this should be enough to see us into the semi finals
Under 14 Féile
We took on local rivals Moyne Templetouhy on Saturday last in the Féile but lost out by 2-4 to 0-6. This was a good display for our first day out and also without some key members who were unavailable on Saturday. Best of luck to Moyne in the next round
Under 16 football
Our 16 footballers begin there campaign v Durlas Og B next Saturday at 11am in Gortnahoe. All support appreciated
Pre season fundraiser
Gortnahoe Glengoole GAA club will hold a fundraiser in Prouts Pub, Gortnahoe on Saturday the 9th of March. This event is being run by the Intermediate & Junior Hurlers and footballers and all funds raised will go towards the large cost of registering and insuring the various club teams for the coming season. On the night we will have music by the very popular and recently formed Thurles band ‘Phase 2’. We will also hold a ‘Hang Tough’ challenge on the night for all hurlers, footballers and anybody else who fancies the challenge. A marquee will be erected to ensure we have room for all. This promises to be a great night out and an opportunity for all to get together and look forward to the year ahead. Admission on the night is by ticket only and these can be purchased from any adult player or any member of the management teams.
