Annual Tom O Hara Tournament

The Annual Tom O Hara Tournament between Tipp and Kilkenny takes place on the May bank holiday Monday (May 6th)

With the Under 21 grade now gone to Under 20 both sides will battle it out in this new grade for the trophy.

Throw in is at 7pm and the entry fee is a very reasonable €5 with under 16s Free. All proceeds go to the running costs of Gortnahoe Glengoole GAA Club.

Intermediate hurling

We were awarded a walk over in Round 3 of the County league by Kilsheelan Kilcash at the weekend. Round 4 takes place on Sunday May 5th at 12 noon v Sean Treacys in Gortnahoe

Under 16 football

Our under 16 footballers will have played Durlas Og B in the B2 final of the championship by the time this goes to print. The winner of this game will contest the B proper quarter finals.Best of luck to all involved

Our under 14 footballers take on on Thursday night in in the B2 final. The winner of this game will contest the B proper quarter final. Best of luck to all involved

Camogie News

The Camogie Club hold their annual 5k Fun Run/Walk and 10k cycle in Gortnahoe on Wednesday 1st May at 7pm. Registration from 6:15 pm in the Community Hall. All support would be greatly appreciated.

The Junior Camogie Team played Carrick Swans in Carrick on Wednesday 24th May at 7pm. It was a well contested game. However Carrick were victorious on this occasion.

Well done to the u16 Camogie team who played Moycarkey on Thursday 25th April in Gortnahoe at 6:45pm. The girls got off to a flying start and maintained their lead throughout the game. They now play Portroe in the Shield semi final on Monday 29th April at 7pm in the Ragg. Best of luck to the girls and their mentors

U14 Match against Carrick was cancelled as Carrick were unable to field a team. This fantastic bunch of girls have won all their games and have now won their group. They now proceed to the Championship Semi finals. Date and time of match to be confirmed. Well done girls

Championship Challenge fundraiser

Cards for our fundraiser Championship Challenge are now in circulation and are available from all players and committee members, cards are also available online through our website. Championship Challenge has a combined prize fund of €850 with €500 going to first place, €250 for second and €100 for third

You simply select a winner from each Munster and Leinster championship game along with predicting the finalists and the winners to accumulate points, the top 3 at the end of all games will take the prizes. Cards are priced at €10

We would like to give a special mention to Copymoore in Urlingford who printed 800 cards Free of charge, we greatly appreciated this.

Club Lotto

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot worth 3,600€ which was held in Prouts on the 25 th of April Number s drawn were 8,12,23,30 .
