Fantasy Cheltham

On behalf of the Juvenile and Camogie club we would like to thank you all for selling and buying tickets for Fantasy Cheltenham over the past number of years.

As you all know, this is the juvenile clubs main fundraiser and with the support of the camogie club the money raised is vital to the running and promotion of our games and development of all our players.

Once again we look forward to your continuous support in running this fundraiser for 2020.Each family will recieve 5 tickets and these will be distributed by the committee over the coming week to all families involved with both clubs.

The final date for return of tickets is Sunday 8th March.

Your sincerely: John Teehan and Pat Rochford. Chairpersons of the Juvenile and Camogie clubs respectively.

Inaugural road hurling tournament

Road Hurling Tournament 2020.... On behalf of the adult hurlers and the Senior Club we wish to thank all those who took part in our first every Road Hurling Tournament. There was a terrific athmosphere throughout the morning as players/supporters and committee members from the Senior, Juvenile, Ladies Football & Camogie Club walked the route dressed in their club colours. Laughter filled the air as young and old enjoyed the fun. It was hugely pleasing to see so many former players swinging the ash and joining in the fun also. Thanks to the Gardai in Killenaule for their support along with our own stewards Tom, Pat and Kevin. We thank the various home owners for allowing us park on the route. We thank Gortnahoe NS for the use of the hall for the catering and registration. To our Photographer Roisin Troy for capturing the highlights of the day. Our winning team on the day was Kieran Tobin, Shane Phelan, Brian Quinlan and Grace Campion. Our second placed team was Brian Maher, Liam Cleary, David Stanley and Aoife Lanigan. We acknowledge the sponsorship and support of Swift Thearpy (Madeline Loughnane) who is our own club physio and who runs her own practice in Thurles. Madeline has done a terrific job for the club since she came on board with us in 2019. We appreciate the kindest and support for the many people who donated spot prizes... Deja Brew (Helen Langian), Martin Lanigan (a custom made Hurley), Gortnahoe Camogie Club, Gortnahoe Juvenile Club, Tomas Gleeson, Jim Rafter, Michael Cleary and other anonymous donators... We congratulate our many prizes winners. A sum total of €1448.00 was raised on the day. We had no expenses. This is an event that is here to stay and one that can be developed and tweaked as we look forward to Road Hurling 2021.
