Drive in Bingo a great success, 2nd date announced
Our first ever Drive in Bingo in association with the Community Hall committee was a great success, so much so that we have announced a second date of Saturday 1st of August at 7pm (gates open from 5:30pm)
As the gates were opened 90mins before the 1st numbers were called a steady flow of cars started filtering into our club grounds with eager bingo players giddy with excitement at the prospect of an afternoon playing the game they love.
By the time the game started in the region of 165 cars, from 4 counties were positioned in pods on both sides of our playing pitch with a total of 360 bingo players in toe.
Credit to the efforts of the team of stewards, book sellers, raffle sellers all cars were parked in a safe efficient manner without any delays and when the game ended all cars were safely on their way home in less than 10 minutes.
This was a joint undertaking by the Gaa club and the community hall association who have successfully ran weekly bingo in the parish for a number of years.
Drive in bingo is becoming popular and the fact that our one has a bigger prize pot, is great value for money and is ran so well we feel it will prove to be one that will draw a consistent crowd and grow in popularity.
A huge thank you to all who made this happen, namely Peggy Maher who was brilliant doing the calling from the trailer along with Mary Phelan who looked after the floats and money matters today.
To John Teehan, Jack Cahill, Clement Gleeson, Martin Gleeson, Darren Coady and Murty Campion on the radio Mics
