Under 12 hurling
The two u12 teams have mid semifinals this week. The group 2 team play Moycarkey in Littleton at 6:30pm on Tuesday.
The group 4 team play holycross in holycross Wednesday at 6:30pm. This fixture might change due to camoige.
Under 14 hurling
Our U14 hurlers lost the mid semi final to Moycarkey Borris on a 3:08 to 0:7 score line. The saying goals wins matches was certainly true for this game with all Moycarkey goals being scored in the first half two of which on hind sight could have been avoided. Gortnahoe had many scorable chances throughout the first half but unfortunately were not converted.
Huge credit has to be awarded to our young men for their second half gutsy performance and had Lady Luck been on our side we could have scored two to three goals which would have been just reward for their willingness to take the game to the home team.
We wish Moycarkey all the best in the mid final who have excellent players in all quarters of the field and on their day will be hard beat.
This week many of our players began a new chapter of their lives replacing the summer wear for shiny new uniforms as they started first year of secondary school. We wish them every success and happiness and hope to see them continue to represent the Gortnahoe Glengoole club on the field of play in their respective schools.

In the first round of the campaign we had a 2-12 to 1-20 victory over Boherlahan, this was followed up by a 4-17 to 2-12 win over Upperchurch. In the third round we had a great 1-19 to 1-7 win over Loughmore and in the fourth round we bead Durlas Og – 19 points to 1-7. In our semi final last week we had a very good win over Upperchurch – Drombane winning on a score line of 4-20 to 2-12.
We wish the team the very best of luck in the Mid Final against Boherlahan-Dualla on this Monday night 31st August in Durlas Og at 6.30. As the number of spectators is so greatly reduced please note that the game is being live streamed on the Boherlahan- Dualla facebook page.
