In an action packed weekend for the club we saw action in 3 grades over Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
On Friday our Junior Div 2 team went down to Thurles Gaels by 3-8 to 0-14 in Thurles. Unfortunately we were missing a number of players due to Intermediate championship involvement on the following Sunday but nonetheless we almost pulled off a victory.
On Saturday evening we headed back to Thurles to take on Gaels again, this time in Div 3 of the Junior League. In an eventful game we saw a man sent off as well as 2 of our selectors as things got a little heated, however Johnny Guilfoyle pulled the game out of the fire with a last gasp equalising goal to earn us a point. Final score Gortnahoe Glengoole 3-8 Gael 1-14.
Finally on Sunday our first Intermediate championship game took place in Ballingarry v Carrick Davins. In a great display under the new management of Hugh Coghlan, Jim Rafter and Paul Barnaville this new young team showed great hunger and no little skill to dismantle the Carrick challenge running out 2-20 to 0-7 victors.
