Gortnahoe Glengoole GAA club would like to offer their condolences to the Hickey family on the passing of Sean.

Sean played a huge role within our club for many years. He served as Chairman of the Juvenile club for a number of years and was a mentor on many juvenile teams over a long number of years. Many of these teams enjoyed great success and featured his sons Patrick and Kenneth which he was always proud of.

The club and community could always count on Sean’s support and in recent years he was always there to lend at various events. He enjoyed helping out every year at our Under 21 Tournament game as well as at the weekly Drive in Bingo.

He always maintained a huge interest in the club and supported the development lotto every week. Sean gave many hours of his life in our GAA grounds promoting our games and encouraging our teams.

His last visit to the club grounds was a very happy occasion (pictured above) where he was in attendance to celebrate the homecoming of the County Intermediate Title.
