A beautiful weekend for hurling and football saw 2 teams from the club into action. Both games were played on Sunday and both resulted in victories.

First into action were our ladies footballers under the guidance of Johnny Guilfoyle and Tommy Duggan. This was there 2nd league outing and after a defeat in the opening round a win was vital here. After a slow start the girls clawed there way back into contention by half time only trailing by a point. Another slow start to the 2nd half saw us 5 points down with 15 minutes to go but the girls dug deep and fought to the end and got their reward as late goals from Trisha Bulfin and Denise Connors sealed a fine come back. Final score Gortnahoe 6-4 Moyne 3-5. This win qualifies the girls for a league final v Fethard, details on this fixture to follow. 

Sunday evening saw our Junior league Div 2 team take on Boherlahan Dualla. With 2 wins and a defeat so far we needed 2 points from this game to keep our hope of a final place alive. In a scrappy encounter we emerged victorious on a score line of 1-12 to 1-9. A win next Saturday night v Sars in the outside field at 7:30pm will guarantee us a final spot.
