Huge congratulations to our Under 21 hurlers who captured the Mid B crown tonight.
This team showed great heart to claim victory despite trailing by 2 points with less than 10 minutes remaining. After a blistering start similar to that in the semi final we found ourselves 2-4 to 0-1 ahead after 10 mins with goals from a Ronan Teehan 21 and an Aidan Ryan effort.
However Sars clawed there way back into the game and there was only a goal between the teams going to the break.
Sars made a strong start to the second half and led by 2 entering the last 10 mins when Robbie Dooley for the second time in a matter of days got a flick to a lobbing free to knock the ball to the net and put us a point ahead with only 3 mins remaining.
Some resolute defending amidst a goal mouth scramble saw the ball cleared and in the resultant attack Keane Hayes delightfully first time flicked a loose ball over the Sars keeper and into the net from 21 yards to seal the victory for a very determined bunch of players.
Huge well done to all involved but there is no rest for the wicked as they will contest their third game in a week this Sunday at 2pm v Cashel in Fethard for a place in a county final
