Club notes week commencing 16th January 2017

Adjourned convention

The adjourned convention was held on Friday the 13th of January in the clubrooms in front of a large attendance.

The following officers were elected at the AGM in December

It was decided that the club would enter all of the usual championship teams but for the league competitions the following was decided

Club social

After a hugely successful 2016 the club will hold a social this year to present the medals to the victorious Minor, U21 and Junior teams from last season.

It is hoped to have this event in early March possibly in the Anner Hotel Thurles. More information will follow once available dates have been checked out.

Under 21 B football championship

This team will open the clubs playing activity this season as they are due to take to the field on Sunday the 29th of January at home v Moyne Gaels. Best of luck to all involved.

Membership rates for 2017

The following rates were agreed at the club AGM in December.

Senior player: €60
Student player; €40
Minor player; €30
Non player: €30

Membership can now be paid via the Clubify app or to any member to the club executive.

Clubs meeting

An important meeting in relation to the field development will be held between the committees of the Senior club, juvenile club, ladies football and camogie club on Wednesday the 18th of January at 8:30pm in the clubrooms. This will be followed by a public meeting (date, time and venue to be confirmed) where the input of all in the parish will be sought.

Sports capital grant

The club has applied for sports capital funding in the past week. This application has to be in by the 24th of Feb. The club hopes to recruit volunteers from the public meeting in the coming weeks to assist with this vital project for the parish.

Awards night

Jimmy Meighan will be presented with his "Hall of fame" award on Saturday the 28th of January in the Ragg, congratulations Jimmy. The club will also be honoured on the night for Mid Intermediate and Junior club of the year after a successful 2016.

Club lotto 

Thank you for your continued support of our lotto. The jackpot remains at €20,000 and tickets can be bought in most local businesses in the parish for €2, buy before Thursday at 8pm to be in with a chance to win.

Return to training

It is hoped that training for Intermediate and Junior will resume on Friday the 17th of Feb, this will be confirmed in due course.
